Log cabin/beach hut short break ideas?
|
Somewhere on the coast, Whitstable, Poole? Or pictuwesque like New Forest/Dorset. Just looking for a 2 or three nighter. Can't find fuck all quirky. Any of you chaps found a little gem for you and your missus/boyfwiend which has a touch of the old womance about it? Area doesn't matter that much as long as it's sort of south-ish. Looking at end of March, beginning of April.

Virtually all the ones in Whitstable and Herne Bay are privately owned and can't be used for over night accommodation. Fisherman's Huts are registered as a hotel so get around the rules. You can buy your own for $30-50K (http://www.rightmove.co.uk/commercial-property-for-sale/property-60028505.html) but you still can't sleep overnight in it!

I live 10 minutes from Whitstable, I personally think there are better places out there than the Kent Coast

Brixham is amazingly cut-off.
If you really wanna get away from everything for a few days you could do a lot worse.
Dartmouth nearby is nice but certain times of the year about 50% of the accents you hear are brummies (loads of holiday homes and retired around there)
Still very pretty though, well worth it.
Although I'd recommend Cornwall much more highly but depends what you're after really, and a bit of a stretch from Whitstable.

That looks very nice. I'd like to go there, except I'm quite a long way away.
